Home Controller HC-1000 V2 and driver are available. 7†Table Top Touch Screen and driver are available. Reverse-phase Dimmer and driver are available. Multi-Tuner V2 and XM Module Upgrade products and drivers are available. Release Version 1.7.2 Version 1.7.2.160 – March 30, 2009 Control4 is continuing to improve the functionality of our hardware and software through periodic system software releases. The 1.7.2 release provides software support for upcoming hardware releases: • Control4® HC-1000 v2 • Control4 Wireless ELV (Reverse Phase, Electronic Low Voltage) Dimmer • Control4 7†Portable Touch Screen The 1.7.2 release also provides the following system software changes: • Removal of “polling†functionality from Director: With the introduction of Control4’s 1.6 system software, functionality was added to the system for polling dimmers to determine their current light level. Now, with the 1.7.2 release, Control4 has removed polling functionality from Director. Each time the Dimmer light level changes, the system is automatically notified. This improves graphical navigator tracking of light levels and linked keypad LED tracking. • A new security driver for the GE Networx NX8-587E virtual keypad interface (added to the Online Database for drivers). Additional changes made in conjunction with the 1.7.2 release include: • Updated firmware for the Control4 Dock for iPod to resolve a problem where certain network packets could cause the dock to lock up (purple LED). After the Control4 system is updated, the dock should automatically update to firmware build 00.03.18. Please note that an iPod must be present in the dock in order to report the correct firmware version. • Added a device-specific programming command to the Control4 Dock for iPod driver which allows the LED on the dock to be turned on/off using programming. Please note that the LED will automatically turn on when the Identify button is pressed. • Resolved various other defects reported by users of the Control4 Dock for iPod. Version 1.7.2 Release Notes Page 2 • Support for the Lua for Windows debugger has been added to the DriverWorks SDK. Developers can now set breakpoints, step through their code, and enjoy the benefits of an Integrated Developer Environment (IDE) while creating and enhancing their DriverWorks drivers. Please see the 1.7.2 version of the DriverWorks SDK for additional information. Lua for Windows can be downloaded from http://code.google.com/p/luaforwindows/. • In conjunction with the support for the new Control4 Wireless ELV Dimmer, on all Control4 Dimmers you now have the ability to configure a load profile. While the load profile settings are primarily intended for the Wireless ELV Dimmer, they also work on the standard Dimmer. Specifically, you can use Minimum On Level (%) for Dimmers that have a dimmable fluorescent (or CFL) load. This changes the dimming range so that the 0-100% seen by the user starts at the Minimum On Level %. • Resolved problem where the 7†Touch Screen buttons would stop working if the Touch Screen was rebooted or lost and regained its network connection while the system was still running. • Resolved problem where phantom audio zones would remain displayed on the Zones page of a Touch Screen if a network message wasn’t received. • Resolved a problem with the zone feedback from an HAI OmniPro security panel incorrectly displaying off by 1. • Resolved a problem whereby using Composer HE or Composer Pro’s device control for a Control4 Thermostat would set the mode to Off. • Enabled photo Screen Saver for Home Controller HC-200, HC-300, and HC- 500 operating in PAL display mode. • Resolved problem which prevented IP Cameras from being hidden or reordered using Composer. The 1.7.2 Release is a complete system software release. All Control4 devices have new software. The update process will require that all devices in the entire Control4 system be updated. To implement the changes to remove polling functionality, Control4 Dimmers and Switches will be updated with new firmware (01.21.62). You should plan on 3 – 5 minutes per Dimmer/Switch for firmware updates. All ZigBee device firmware versions are listed in the firmware table in these Release Notes. All new installations and updates from prior versions will default to 1.7.2.
